Google thinks they were working recently...
Published on March 21, 2024 By GreenReaper In WinCustomize Talk

Until recently it was possible to use subdomains of the form greenreaper.wincustomize.com to get to your user page. Indeed this is the link provided on Google for "GreenReaper wincustomize".

However, this is now giving a 404. Perhaps the domain redirector is broken?

My account is indeed still there:

Those old pages are not on a secure domain (I have no idea if they ever were) but your page are there, just remove the "s" from https.
This works:

http://greenreaper.wincustomize.com

Maybe someone from Stardock can shed some light on this?

It doesn't work for me - I get an empty page when accessing that link as well.

"Not Found

HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found."

Perhaps some kind of geolocation restriction from the UK? Or broken when using IPv6?

I'm located in Norway and the unsecure link opens in all the browsers on my PC (Opera, Google Chrome, MS Edge & Firefox) + on my Android phone (Firefox/Chrome). Maybe some Firewall/browser/security setting that prevents you from opening http?

Anyone?

OK, I think I see what is happening. My mobile browsers are automatically trying to upgrade to HTTPS even if I explicitly enter http: and because a HTTPS server is accessible it uses it.

So it is not enough for http: to work and to be used in the link, either HTTPS: must also serve the page for that link or it must be disabled.

I have sent feedback to Google because they say it will ignore a 404, but since it does have a valid certificate now there is no real reason for it not to work on Stardock's side.

GreenReaper, are you planning on doing some skinning of any kind?

Honestly, I'd just had someone want to do a brief interview and was checking all the links on my home page to ensure they still work. 😸

Fun happy days!

Back when logging in as the Administrator wasn't considered a crime but a necessity, and it seemed like Winamp would be whipping llama asses forever...

You mean it isn't?  I'm still using it!

Oh, me too, the 2.x interface even, but it feels a little like it's on life support.
